Educational Programme
This exhibition offers a rich pool of inspirations and topics for education programmes. The following is to provide examples of workshops to encourage the audience to explore ideas around the exhibition. A more comprehensive education programme will arise out of consultation with the venue.

Workshops:

Origami
One thousand paper cranes workshop to recall the bravery and determination of Sadako Saski, the little girl who developed leukaemia at the age of twelve after being exposed to the radiation fall out at the age of two in Hiroshima. It is believed that if one folds 1000 paper cranes, these will protect one from illness and make one’s wish come true.

Shadow art
Paper craft and drawing workshop. When the bomb was detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, people within 300 metres of the hypocenters were instantly vaporised, leaving only faint shadows on nearby walls, pavements and other structures that remained.

Writing workshop
Interpretation of events and how this differs from person to person.

Lectures and talks
Symposium – History: Facts or Fictions – perspectives from a mix of theoreticians and practitioners on the creation of history.
